GEO RSS
Real Simple Syndication (RSS) files point back to your website. RSS files are used by personalized home pages (Netvibes, iGoogle, MyYahoo etc), other websites and blogs, and mobile devices. Having web pages point to your site helps Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

Having quality websites point to your sites helps SEO even more. (see article link below for more specific suggestions on how to accomplish this)

RSS files can be used to update content on your own website as well. This is useful so you do not have to ask your web developer for help when you have something new that you would like to share with your (potential) guests. RSS FEEDS can be shared via your site to let your guests stay up-to-date without even having to visit your site. And RSS files can easily be turned into email newsletters that can be mailed to your distribution list (FeedBurner).

If you have news items in your RSS feed that have a specific geographic location, you can simply add this to the item. Adding geographic location data will allow the items to be displayed on a map (as we have shown in some of the examples).

For example, post up-to-date information of things-to-do on your website that you would like to share with guests who will be arriving at your hotel soon. These future guests, after booking on your site, could sign up for the RSS FEED so they stay up-to-date without having to monitor your site.

In a way, you will be tempting them to visit your site again with the latest things that they can do when they visit your hotel. Besides relying on your guest to sign up for the RSS FEED, you can also turn the RSS FEED into a news (email) letter, with Feedburner's service (for example).

While your guests might not be familiar with the area, you could probably do them a great service to point out where these things-to-do are in relation to your hotel. You can simply do that by adding the location markers to the items in your RSS FEED.
